From Morgan State Basketball Captain to Miss USA 2025, Ivy Harrington Redefines Representation
Morgan State University alumna Ivy Harrington has officially been crowned Miss USA 2025, representing her home state of New Jersey with elegance and purpose. The former Morgan State basketball captain turned communications professional is now taking her leadership from the court to the national stage — and doing it all with unmistakable HBCU pride.
Harrington, who led her team both athletically and academically during her time at Morgan State, continues to embody the excellence that HBCUs are known for.
If a young girl sees me and feels like she belongs — that she’s seen, valued, and capable of anything — then I’ve already won, she said after receiving the crown.
Now stepping into the national spotlight, Harrington’s platform centers on representation, empowerment, and faith. “My vision is to show that beauty, brains, and purpose can coexist — and that representation matters from the court to the crown,” she shared.
From Baltimore’s campus courts to the Miss USA stage, Ivy Harrington is proving that confidence and compassion are as powerful as any title. Her journey from Morgan State to Miss USA reflects a new era of pageantry — one grounded in authenticity, advocacy, and the timeless grace of HBCU women.
