Major Women’s Political Group Endorses Jasmine Crockett for U.S. Senate

The National Women’s Political Organization Cited Crockett’s Leadership and Advocacy for Texas Families

Dallas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, the Democratic frontrunner in the race for U.S. Senate, has received the endorsement of EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest political organization dedicated to electing Democratic women.

The endorsement adds significant national support to Crockett’s campaign as she seeks to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate.

“Jasmine Crockett is a fearless force in Congress, taking on the reckless Republican agenda and calling out the lawlessness of the Trump administration,” said Jessica Mackler, president of EMILY’s List. “At a moment when our democracy and our communities are under attack, leaders like Jasmine will never stop fighting to win back power and advocating relentlessly for Texas families. EMILY’s List is proud to endorse Jasmine in the U.S. Senate race.”

Crockett: ‘Texas Is Worth the Fight’

In response to the endorsement, Crockett emphasized both the historical role of women in Texas leadership and the urgency of the current political moment.

“Thank you EMILY’s List for supporting our campaign and believing that Texas is worth the fight,” Crockett said. “For believing that women should lead in all spaces. Texas has had two women serve as governor and one of our most notable Senators was a woman.”

Crockett invoked a lineage of Texas women leaders, naming Ann Richards, Irma Rangel, Barbara Jordan, and Eddie Bernice Johnson as examples of what she described as “Texas Tough” leadership.

“EMILY’s List knows that I won’t back down, that I’ll be unyielding in this fight, and that I will energize and uplift women across Texas,” Crockett said. “I’m grateful for their support in this campaign.”
