LeBron James XXIII Collection Marks 23rd Season

LeBron James and Nike are marking his 23rd season in the NBA with the launch of the LeBron XXIII sneaker and the Forever King apparel capsule. The release honors James’ unprecedented career, which spans his days at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School, championships with the Miami Heat, and his ongoing run with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The apparel drop features jerseys, shorts, jackets, and lifestyle pieces crafted with premium touches like lion embroidery, Forever King drawcord clamps, and woven tags. Nike’s design team — Ross Klein, Jarrett Man, Wil Green, and Libby Muir — worked alongside James to ensure the collection reflects both performance and storytelling.

Performance Meets Storytelling

The LeBron XXIII is the first in James’ line to feature a full-length ZoomX drop-in midsole, paired with the new Crown Containment System for added stability. But Nike emphasized that the shoe isn’t just about performance. Each of the 23 colorways carries meaning:

  • Uncharted celebrates James as the first NBA player to surpass 40,000 points.
  • Miami Twice pays tribute to his back-to-back titles with the Heat.
  • The Chosen One and the One Who Chose honors James and his son, Bronny, playing together on the Lakers.

A Legacy in Design

For Nike’s creative team, jerseys were a non-negotiable inclusion. “Without the jerseys, it would be an incomplete story,” said Lead Apparel Designer Wil Green. “We had to make them feel premium, fit for a king.”

Team members described the design process in one word: Proud, Powerful, Empowered, Creative. Muir noted the collaboration was fueled by rare energy: “Everyone brought their expertise, but also inspired each other. That kind of energy is rare, and it shows in the work.”
