Kamala Harris’ ‘60 Minutes’ Interview Lands Emmy Nod Amid Trump Suit

CBS Scores Emmy Nomination for ‘60 Minutes’ Kamala Harris Interview At Center Of $20B Trump Lawsuit

CBS’s 60 Minutes segment featuring Kamala Harris is back in the headlines—this time for more than politics. The interview has been nominated for “Outstanding Edited Interview” at the upcoming Emmy Awards, recognized for its editing despite being the focus of a $20 billion lawsuit filed by Donald Trump.

The nomination comes just months after the interview was cited in Trump’s legal attack on CBS, Paramount Global, and 60 Minutes, with claims that the network manipulated Harris’ responses to influence public opinion during the 2024 election.

Trump Alleges ‘Fraud’ in $20 Billion Suit

Filed in November 2024, Trump’s lawsuit accuses CBS of staging and editing Harris’ answers to make her appear more favorable.

“60 Minutes and its corporate parents… removed and deleted Kamala’s entire answer, every word of it, and replaced it with a response that she gave later on to an entirely different question,” Trump claimed in a post on Truth Social.

“They cheated and defrauded the American People at levels never seen before in the Political Arena.”

The lawsuit argues that the alleged editing violated federal election laws and FCC regulations. CBS provided transcripts to federal investigators, but the pressure hasn’t let up.

Fallout Inside CBS and Paramount Global

The controversy surrounding the Harris segment has reportedly caused internal friction at CBS and its parent company, Paramount Global. According to insiders, Paramount is exploring a potential settlement with the Trump administration—an idea many journalists inside the company strongly oppose.

In the wake of the incident, 60 Minutes executive producer Bill Owens resigned, citing corporate interference following the fallout from the interview.

Broader Media Targeting from Trump Administration

CBS isn’t the only outlet in Trump’s crosshairs. On the same day 60 Minutes received its Emmy nomination, Trump signed an executive order to eliminate federal funding for NPR and PBS, signaling a broader crackdown on public media.

With the Emmy spotlight now on a segment that Trump has labeled “fraudulent,” the battle over media credibility, political power, and free press continues to escalate.
