Bringing Awareness to Fentanyl Education with FEARFest
RIA Press Release — Rise Recovery, along with its students from Rise Inspire Academy (RIA), is proud to announce the F.E.A.R. Fest (Fentanyl Education Awareness & Recovery Festival), a community event aimed at educating adolescents about the dangers of Fentanyl and counterfeit pills. This event is put together by teens in recovery who have taken the initiative to create an awareness campaign.
The F.E.A.R. Fest is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 12 pm to 3 pm at Rise Recovery, 2803 Mossrock, San Antonio, Texas 78230. The festival is designed to be an entertaining yet highly informative experience, featuring a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, live music, games, food trucks, and valuable recovery resources. Be prepared to be educated and have lots of fun within a supportive recovery environment. RIA students believe teens are more likely to listen to people who “have been there.” Recent statistics have shown a troubling rise in opioid use among youth, with over 4,500 opioid-related overdose deaths in individuals aged 15-24 in 2020 alone. This underscores the critical need for awareness and education among this vulnerable age group.
In an effort to expand the reach and impact of the F.E.A.R. Fest, our event leaders are extending an invitation to service providers who wish to contribute to this important cause affecting our youth. Organizations interested in setting up resource tables at the event are encouraged to participate and help make a difference in the lives of young people.
