Jill Scott Will Release Her First Studio Album in Nearly a decade, To Whom This May Concern, on February 13
After nearly a decade away from releasing a full-length studio project, Jill Scott is officially returning with new music. The three-time Grammy Award–winning artist, actress, and poet announced that her sixth studio album, To Whom This May Concern, will be released February 13 via The Orchard, marking her first album since 2015’s Woman.
The project features a wide-ranging and carefully curated group of collaborators, including Ab-Soul, J.I.D., Tierra Whack, and Too $hort. Production credits span multiple genres and generations, with contributions from Adam Blackstone, DJ Premier, Om’Mas Keith, Camper, Andre Harris, Seige Montracity, Trombone Shorty, Eric Wortham, DW Wright, and VT Tolan. Together, the team delivers a body of work rooted in soul, hip-hop, poetry, and lived experience.

Scott’s return follows a landmark year celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut album, Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1, a release that helped redefine modern soul music and earned her a Grammy. The anniversary was marked by a sold-out North American tour, where longtime fans gathered in intimate venues shaped by shared memory and emotional connection.
Visually, To Whom This May Concern is anchored by album artwork created by acclaimed visual artist Marcellus, whose imagery sets the emotional and aesthetic tone for the project. The album’s first single, “Beautiful People,” is now available on all major streaming platforms, offering an early glimpse into Scott’s perspective as she enters this next chapter.
To Whom This May Concern is available for pre-order now and will be released February 13.
