Sources Say “Legit Talks” Are Happening in the Bezos Camp
Last weekend, notorious Boston guy Bill Simmons reported on his podcast that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos could be interested in buying the for-sale Boston Celtics.
League Wants $6 Billion
During his show, Simmons went on to discuss a potential price point of the eventual Celtics sale saying the “league wants $6 billion. … It’s a crazy price, but they’re probably going to get it.” Even if the sale doesn’t reach that high, it’s likely to surpass the $4 billion mark Mat Ishbia paid for the Phoenix Suns. Additionally, whatever price the C’s do ultimately yield could set a new standard for expansion fees as the league eyes Las Vegas and Seattle as potential additions, despite previous reports stating fees would sit somewhere in the $4-5 billion range
