“I’m Curious San Antonio, What Are You Giving Thanks To This Week?”

Celebrating Thanksgiving at the Communities 44th Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner

We are celebrating the Thanksgiving Holiday tomorrow when the Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner will be feeding 25,000 residents in its 44th year of this holiday event. There is still time to volunteer. Mayor Ron Nirenberg sent a message of commitment to the community out this past weekend sharing his well wishes and inviting you to join him this Thanksgiving,

Friends,

Gratitude is an easy feeling to come by in San Antonio.

There’s an undeniable momentum in our city, fueled by major economic developments and great news for working families – but that momentum is carried on a foundation of togetherness that lets the world know that 1.5 million people have no problem moving as one.

That commitment to community is at its fullest during the holiday season, and there’s no better event that exemplifies our character than the Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner. In its 44th year, the event will feed 25,000 residents who would otherwise be alone or unable to prepare a meal for themselves this Thanksgiving. You can find more information on the event here: www.rauljimenezdinner.com.

I’m certain that you already have plans to help a neighbor in need over the holidays but if you want any ideas, check out United Way’s Volunteer Center at VolunteerSanAntonio.org.

But I’m curious, San Antonio, what are you giving thanks to this week?

I’m grateful for Erika and Jonah, my family and friends, a city that stands up for themselves and their neighbors, a community that never gives up, and the future we’re realizing together. Happy Thanksgiving, y’all. May the week be one of peace and joy for you and your loved ones.

Thankful for the privilege of serving you,

-Ron
