Cities Falling Behind
Not every city earned high marks. Some places, despite their size or reputation, left Black singles feeling disconnected. Among the lowest-ranked were Cincinnati, OH, Wichita, KS, Columbus, OH, San Diego, CA, Phoenix, AZ, and Indianapolis, IN. Respondents cited smaller Black populations, fewer cultural touchpoints, and limited dating opportunities as reasons these cities lagged.
Survey Method
The rankings are based on feedback from thousands of BLK app users nationwide. Participants rated their cities across six core questions measuring dating satisfaction, availability of partners, cultural alignment, and overall community connection. The final scores reflect both lived experiences and self-reported insights from Black singles across the U.S.
