Historic snow fall, dangerous wind chill engulfs San Antonio area

Coldest temps since 1989

UPDATE AT 11A.M.: Snow from a major winter storm has blanketed the San Antonio area early Monday morning.

Most snow reports in Bexar are between 3-5 inches with most of the snow fall ending after its trip through western Bexar County. The rest of the morning will see dangerous cold as northwest winds gust 25 – 35mph, wind chills -5 to -15 in San Antonio.

When the sun comes out on Monday, it will help melt the snow, but after this accumulation, we should not expect fantastic conditions during our sunny afternoon. When the sun sets, everything freezes over quickly. Monday night into Tuesday morning will be rough on our roadways with icy conditions.

Temperatures Monday night to Tuesday morning will likely be in the single digits with this snowpack for many areas.
