About the Artwork: Orgullo Tejano (Tejano Pride) can be found at two locations. The main artwork is located at SW 37th St & Old Hwy 90 W in Council District 6. Inspired by the musical legacy of this historic corridor, the towering mosaic accordion player’s instrument becomes an extension of his body. From his mouth flows the image of the iconic speech scroll, used in several Mesoamerican cultures, to identify sound. The artwork at the River Walk Public Art Garden depicts a colorful outstretched accordion.
