Federal Violations Could Be on the Way

Illegal Police Harassment against Petition

Harassment is coming from the San Antonio Police Officers Association (SAPOA) as reports are flying into the news that corrupt tactics of SAPOA and independent rogues are trying to prevent the citizens of San Antonio from signing a petition that would prevent them from rehiring corrupt and abusive police officers. Citizens are being urged to file complaints with Internal Affairs (IA) and report them every time when they illegally violate the right to petition. Also, they may be looking at federal complaints as interfering with the legitimate right to petition the government is protected by the First Amendment. Several officers have been identified and this may be in the works. Extremist vigilantes are also in on the act and one officer appears to be wearing a SAPD logo on his shirt and a racist vigilante shirt at the same time.

Man pictured at polling locations wearing a racist shirt stating “I Held the Line”, was identified as a police officer also displaying the SAPD logo on his clothing.

The reported offending officers may be charged with federal violations as they have aggressively gone up to tables manned by FIXSAPD.ORG, the group that is fighting to remove the power of corruption and abuse that the police association uses to rehire bad cops. That power rests in a City of San Antonio contract, between SAPOA and the City, which allows a bad cop to skirt the law, civilian review of bad conduct, and the police chief. They use a process called “Arbitration” which allows bad cops, who have committed some of the most horrendous acts of barbarism, to escape justice. FIXSAPD is attempting to gather enough signatures to force a vote to remove government codes 174 and 143 that would end this tyrannical power that the SAPOA uses to keep bad cops employed without accountability. Citizens are being urged to sign the petition across the city to stop this abuse which has gone on far too long.

The SAPOA is using all kinds of fake news and outright lies to sucker people. They claim that the petition campaign is about “Defunding the Police,” a tactic used by racists to deny legitimate grievances. FIXSAPD has nothing to do with “defunding,” or the police budget, but with bad abusive police officers. We should not have to worry about police officers feeding dog feces to a homeless person, as happened with Officer Matthew Luckhurst, or the killing a handcuffed man with electric shock as in the case of Noble Cooper. The other LIES the SAPOA spreads, through their official mouthpiece Mike Helle, is that the petition drive is against all cops. This is a total lie, as good cops have filed complaints against the bad ones, and police officers that obey the law have nothing to fear from removal of these laws that were passed during segregation.

Bad cops are the problem, and their association keeps them on the street threatening the population. BAD COPS are the problem and good officers are sick of them as well. The SAPOA bag of lies includes stuffing that could fill a dumpster and includes such lies as the petition is against collective bargaining-WRONG. Many union members are supporting the petition campaign as it has to do with bad policing and the corrupt association contract that is put in place with large sums of money given to city council members to remain quiet in the face of abuse. One First Amendment violator rode around in a blue truck screaming like a banshee for people not to sign the petition and disrupting the petition process. People are being urged to photograph them and report them to Internal Affairs at 210-207-7350 or 210-207-7365.  The Internal Affairs Unit can be contacted in person, by phone or at SAPD.InternalAffairs@sanantonio.gov
