The New Dunkin’ at U.S. 281 Features a Fresh Design, Faster Service, and Handcrafted Espresso Drinks
Coffee lovers in San Antonio have a new spot to start their mornings. Dunkin’®, the nation’s largest coffee and donut brand, officially opened its newest Next Generation restaurant this week at 22255 U.S. Highway 281, introducing an updated design and faster service experience to local guests.
The new 1,300-square-foot restaurant employs approximately 20 crew members and is open daily from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The location is owned and operated by local franchisee Payal Bhutani, who now oversees 11 Dunkin’ locations across Texas.
Dunkin’s Next Gen concept features a modern, welcoming design built for convenience and comfort. The North San Antonio restaurant showcases a warm color palette, atmospheric lighting, and complimentary Wi-Fi, creating a bright and energetic space for guests.

One of the signature upgrades is a front-facing bakery case, giving customers a closer look at the chain’s lineup of baked goods. The layout is designed to highlight openness and accessibility while maintaining Dunkin’s signature upbeat atmosphere.
The new restaurant also introduces Dunkin’s innovative tap system, which pours a variety of cold beverages — including iced coffee, iced tea, Cold Brew, and Nitro-Infused Cold Brew, a Next Gen exclusive. Crew members use high-quality espresso machines for freshly handcrafted drinks made to order, ensuring consistency and flavor in every cup.
Expanding in Texas
The opening underscores Dunkin’s continued growth throughout Texas, with franchise owners like Bhutani leading the expansion of the brand’s new format. The Next Gen design is part of Dunkin’s nationwide effort to bring speed, quality, and comfort together for today’s on-the-go customers.
