The University of South Carolina has locked in women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley through the 2029-30 season. With the new deal, the three-time national championship-winning coach becomes the highest-paid coach in women’s basketball history.
The veteran coach’s extension begins with an annual base salary of $4 million, but is supplemented by an annual $250,000 escalator and a $500,000 signing bonus, bringing the total value to approximately $25.25 million. In a statement shared by the university, Staley said,
“I look forward to continuing to be an example of how an investment in women’s basketball is one that will pay off for everyone.”
