It’s Here. The Trump Administration is Coming For Us Now.

Over 100 Black Men in D.C. Harassed and Arrested as Trump Administration Race-Baits The Community

Over the past week, more than 100 Black men have reportedly been harassed, detained, or falsely arrested by federal agents after the Trump administration seized control over Washington, D.C. The move, framed as a crackdown on crime, comes as crime rates are at a 30-year low.

Neighborhoods feel militarized. Officers stop men outside their own homes, demanding IDs and accusing them of petty crimes. One man’s cigarette was mistaken for a joint, prompting an invasive search. Residents call it what it is: racial profiling.

Less than 12 hours into the takeover, the White House’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) posted mugshots of Black men arrested during sweeps—most of whom had not yet seen a judge or spoken to a lawyer. It’s exactly the same playbook the administration used earlier against Latino communities during immigration crackdowns to justify harsh federal enforcement.

This tactic is a deliberate use of one of America’s most dangerous stereotypes: the Black criminal.

The White House’s Denial of Racism

The White House frames these sweeps as “making D.C. safe and beautiful.” What we’ve been seeing is not beautification: heavily armed federal agents patrolling neighborhoods, young Black men paraded on social media as symbols of “crime,” and executive power stretched far beyond local accountability.

By posting mugshots of Black and Hispanic men on social media under the guise of “public safety,” the Trump administration is weaponizing propaganda to criminalize communities of color while projecting an image of order and control. All this from a president with 34 felony convictions of his own and an immigrant first lady.

Black Voters Matter Co-founders Cliff Albright and LaTosha Brown reminded Americans of the hypocrisy: “Trump and his enablers never cared about peace or justice. If they did, white supremacists wouldn’t have stormed the Capitol on January 6th.”

The TRUE Picture

D.C.’s lack of statehood leaves its residents uniquely vulnerable to federal overreach, but that’s not stopping Trump from threatening similar federal interventions in Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Oakland.

What we see happening in the nation’s capital is the implementation of “Making America Great Again” — better known as Project 2025 — fueling injustice and hate against anyone not aligned with white America.

From criminalizing and parading mugshots of Black and Browns online, to vetting Smithsonian museums in the name of “restoring Truth and Sanity to American History,” to slashing PBS funding and floating PragerU as a replacement that teaches children false history—this administration is pushing a whitewashed narrative at every level.

It’s a playbook as old as racism itself: distort history, criminalize communities of color, and justify oppression through manipulated rhetoric.

Don’t be fooled. These narratives aren’t about safety or truth. They are deliberate, calculated moves to erase, rewrite, and weaponize history in service of authoritarian control.

Until then, good night and good luck.
