COUNTDOWN FOR BACK TO SCHOOL

The countdown for back to school has begun

Hello SAISD Parents,

It’s time to begin the countdown because school will start on the 16th. So make sure you have your children registered and ready for that first day of school. Also, remember that if you want to volunteer at the school or on field trips, you must fill out the online paperwork at the App-Garden. It is a transition from summer break back to school so make sure everyone gets back on schedule so your child will arrive on time to school.

Most of you are still worried about kids, staff, and teachers catching COVID-19, but understand that all schools will have classrooms ready to go on the first day. Then after the mass shooting in Uvalde, most are worried about how SAISD will keep our children safe. As of today, the district will continue to follow annual school lockdowns at each campus and keep all gates and outside doors secured at all times; all visitors will be buzzed in and will enter into a secure lobby, they will also use the quick-push emergency notification system that alerts the police in the event of an emergency. Lastly the district police force that has gone through Advance Law-Enforcement Rapid Response Training will be in place at all times. Lastly, SAISD will still have meetings throughout the school year to improve the safety of all of our campuses.

Let’s start this school year off on the right track and remember that if you have any concerns please contact your child schools to set up a meeting. Also, please remember that if you have any questions for me please email at lena.lopez@saobserver.com.

Have a Blessed Week, Lena Lopez
