Community First Opens 50th Food Pantry in Bexar County

Located at Latched Support to help families stay healthy and address food insecurity as the holiday seasons approaches

Community First Health Plans News – Community First Health Plans is celebrating its 50th Food Pantry in partnership with Latched Support, a local nonprofit providing breastfeeding support to new moms and parent education for healthy family experiences. This event is taking place on Wednesday, November 8th at 11 AM until Noon at Latched Support located at 8102 Midcrown, Windcrest, TX.

The community is invited to celebrate the 50th Food Pantry. The event is open to the public. Attendees can enjoy refreshments, giveaways, and free resources from Community First and Partner Booths.

Community First Health Plans chose Latched Support because of their dedication to helping one of Bexar County’s most vulnerable demographics. “Latched Support is an excellent organization that works with a population we are extremely passionate about serving new mothers and their babies. Community First Health Plans understands the needs of this population, and we want to do everything we can to provide resources that help new mothers thrive and babies grow into happy, healthy children,” said Theresa Scepanski, CEO, Community First Health Plans.

With the 50th food pantry in place, the next phase is to work with other local organizations to adopt the food pantries. The organization would be in charge of making sure the pantry remains stocked and report any maintenance issues.

Currently, food pantries are located across six counties. They are strategically placed near churches, schools and community organizations such as Any Baby Can, Autism Community Network, and Gardopia Gardens.  The public can find a food pantry near them at https://communityfirsthealthplans.com/food-pantry.

Come and join Community First representatives, Latched Support representatives, moms and their babies.
