Community Centers Expand Hours Across San Antonio

San Antonio Parks & Recreation Extends Hours at 19 Centers with Open Houses and Free Activities

Beginning October 18, San Antonio Parks and Recreation community centers will stay open longer to give residents more access to safe, engaging spaces throughout the week. The new schedule introduces morning and evening hours at 19 centers citywide, offering both structured and unstructured time for free community use.

“Expanding center hours offers families and neighbors more access to enjoy these community spaces,” said Sara Sharp, Parks and Recreation Manager. “Morning hours can welcome caregivers with young children for toddler time, seniors can enjoy a place to read, participate in an art class or drink a cup of coffee with friends. After-school and evening hours can welcome students and adults looking for a place to stay active, finish homework, remote work with free WiFi, join a fitness class or play games with neighbors.”

New Hours of Operation

Residents can now enjoy flexible hours to fit their routines:

Monday–Thursday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Friday: 2–6 p.m.
