Close Friends and Former School Staff Charged with Sexual Misconduct Involving Students

In a disturbing case from Georgia, two former school staff members, who were close friends, have been accused of engaging in sexual relationships with male students at the district where they were employed. Railey Greeson and Brooklyn Shuler, both of whom were integral parts of each other’s wedding ceremonies, are now facing serious legal repercussions.

According to reports from 11Alive, Greeson and Shuler were involved with the students between October 2021 and January 2022. Specifically, Greeson allegedly had sexual relations with two students during this period, while Shuler was accused of being intimate with one student. The New York Post has reported that both women are now facing first-degree charges of sexual contact by an employee, which could lead to a 25-year prison sentence or a fine of up to $100,000 if convicted.

Greeson served as Shuler’s maid of honor in her November 2022 wedding, just months after the alleged incidents. The wedding registry website for Shuler’s nuptials has since been removed from the internet. Additionally, Shuler reciprocated the honor by serving as Greeson’s maid of honor at her wedding in October 2023. Photos on Greeson’s wedding page depict the couple in affectionate poses, with a note detailing their relationship’s beginnings after a high school football game.

Greeson, a Calhoun High School alumna who graduated in 2019, later attended Kennesaw State University before embarking on her career in education. On her now-deleted social media profile, she once wrote about the pressures of academic grading on students. Despite her arrest, Greeson’s husband has publicly shown support for her, quoting a biblical passage on his Facebook page.

In contrast, Shuler’s marriage appears to have ended following the scandal, as reported by the Gordon Gazette. Both women were arrested, booked at Gordon County Jail, and subsequently released on bond. Calhoun Schools has not provided any comments regarding the situation.

The case has raised many questions, including the roles that Greeson and Shuler played within the school district and the impact of their actions on the students and community. The investigation continues as the legal proceedings move forward.
