Chef Milas Williams to Cater 8th Annual American Indians in Texas Cactus Blossom Gala

American Indians in Texas at The Spanish Colonial Missions (AIT-SCM) annual Cactus Blossom celebrates its 8th year! Guest can dine on a specially created three course meal that focuses on Native American flavors and is prepared by Chef Milas Williams. In addition, guest will be entertained by Native American performances and can participate in a silent auction. Proceeds of the event support AITSCM’s programs and services

“As the first African American Chef to cater this event, I wanted to put my experience on the menu. Having an African and Native American background I felt I was able to bring a new twist to the classic Native American flavors of Squash, Bison, Antelope, and Maze. “

The full menu includes:  Appetizer: Nopalito Salad – Mixed greens with cactus & berries topped with prickly pear vinaigrette Entrée: Antelope cutlet & breaded buffalo meatballs with a rosemary demi-glace. Mashed squash with mace, allspice, & cardamom. Roasted summer veggies. Cornbread muffins. Dessert: Huckleberry-honey cake drizzled with berry coulis 

The AITSCM annual Cactus Blossom will be held May 20, 2023, from 5:30pm until 9pm and located at Hanger 9 at 8081 Inner Circle Drive in San Antonio, Texas.
