OpenAI announced that ChatGPT now has 500 million weekly users, marking a 43% increase from the 350 million reported at the end of last year. For comparison, in November 2023, ChatGPT had around 100 million weekly users, meaning its user base has grown fivefold in a year and a half. Some are daily friends with ChatGPT looking for advice and recipes amongst a host of other things while most use Chat as their new co-worker.
This surge comes as OpenAI continues to expand its enterprise offerings and integrate its AI models into more consumer and business applications.
