Mark your calendars, San Antonio. ChildSafe is kicking off National Child Abuse Prevention Month this April with their annual Cardboard Kids® campaign, a creative way to spark important conversations about child safety.
You can pick up your free Cardboard Kid on Saturday, March 8, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at one of these convenient spots:
• ChildSafe – 3730 IH-10 East, San Antonio, TX 78220
• Olmos Basin Park – 651 Devine Rd., San Antonio, TX 78212
• Walker Ranch Park – 12603 West Ave., San Antonio, TX 78216
Can’t make it on March 8? No worries! ChildSafe is also offering pickups by appointment throughout March at their main campus (3730 IH-10 East). Just email them at cardboardkids@childsafe-sa.org to reserve yours for pickup on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Once you’ve picked up your Cardboard Kid, decorate it, name it, and use this fun activity to talk with your kids or students about personal boundaries and body safety. Then, on Reveal Day—April 3, 2025—display your Cardboard Kid somewhere visible to help raise awareness. Don’t forget to snap a picture and share it online using the hashtag #CardboardKidsSA.
