American singer-songwriter and powerhouse Beyonce has announced she will be going on tour in support of her groundbreaking eighth album Cowboy Carter. The 34 time Grammy winner and Houston native initially was set to make a major announcement on January 14th, following her halftime performance during Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game on Christmas Day. However, due to the tragic LA wildfires, she turned her attention to helping raise money for relief.
That post was followed up by a promotional photo with the simple caption: “COWBOY CARTER TOUR 2025.” In the picture, Beyoncé is styling red lipstick, platinum braids and bleached eyebrows.
This will be following the resounding success of the Renaissance World Tour i n 2023 supporting her seventh album, Renaissance.
Writer Joe Kottke, in his 2025 article for CBS News, “Beyoncé Announces ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour Ahead of Grammys Night”, writes, “Beyoncé announced a new tour early Sunday in a social media post with the caption “COWBOY CARTER TOUR 2025” and a video displaying a lit-up sign with a similar message…Beyoncé postponed an announcement set for Jan. 14 because of the California wildfires and said her charity, BeyGOOD, was donating $2.5 million to support families in Altadena and Pasadena.”
Cowboy Carter is the country-inspired album Beyonce released in March of 2024. Since its release, the 27 track album has sold over 1 million copies in the United States as well as in multiple countries internationally. It has also started a cultural and generational discourse over the history of country music and the African American origins of the genre. At the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, Beyonce took home 3 trophies, including the long-awaited Album Of The Year.
Beyonce stands as the first Black woman to win Album Of The Year at the Grammy Awards since Lauryn Hill took home the trophy for her album, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, in 1999. “I just feel very full and very honored,” Beyoncé said from the stage, accompanied by her daughter Blue Ivy Carter. “It has been many, many years, and I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, all of the hard work.”
Dates and locations for the Cowboy Carter Tour have yet to be announced. Much is to be seen as to what the greatest Black entertainer will put together in a concert for an album that has spanned multiple genres and across various cultures and generations.
