Incident Report Shows Judge Involved in County Property Damage Weeks Before Indictment
Weeks before her indictment on felony and misdemeanor charges, Bexar County Judge Rosie Speedlin-Gonzalez was involved in a separate incident involving damage to county property, according to a December 4, 2025 Bexar County incident report.
The report states that surveillance video shows a vehicle identified as belonging to Speedlin-Gonzalez exiting the Bexar County Archives parking garage without waiting for the magnetic gate arm to raise. The vehicle struck the arm, causing it to detach, then backed up, exited the garage, and ran over the detached arm before leaving the area.
The Damage
Damage to the gate arm and labor was estimated at $1,000, according to the parking garage manager cited in the report. The report notes the garage requires a Bexar County keycard to enter and exit, and that video footage showed no attempt to swipe a card before exiting.

According to the report, Judge Speedlin-Gonzalez contacted her courtroom bailiff after the incident, who relayed the information to dispatch. The report does not indicate the judge interacted directly with responding officers.
How Judicial Matters Are Handled Internally
The parking garage incident is not related to the charges that led to Speedlin-Gonzalez’s indictment, which stem from a separate courtroom matter.
However, sources within San Antonio’s legal community say the incident reflects how some judicial matters were handled internally.
“These were things people talked about quietly,” one source said. “This isn’t about piling on. It’s about making sure the public understands that what they’re hearing now didn’t start yesterday.”
