Austin Is Quiet, But an Educational Storm May be Brewing

Austin may be quiet until May 29th when we may see an educational storm

Hello SAISD Parents,

As of this week, were still waiting to see if any of the House or Senate Bills will pass to the next step of becoming a law. We can only wait and see what these politicians will vote for or against to determine if any bill becomes law. Throughout this legislation, many teachers, individuals, and non-profits testified against SB 18, which would stop giving Tenure to any new University professors, affecting our research foundations. So this week, their going over the identical bills I wrote about these past weeks. Until these politicians hash out the details or find a way to do the right thing, we can only pray they make good decisions to help our public schools.

Parents, if your children are retaking the high school EOC, please ensure they show up on time with their computers fully charged. Also, any of our parents who have children attending Sam Houston High School next year, it is time to register them.

I want all of my readers to know that it’s quiet at this point in Austin, but soon, there may be a storm because it all ends on May 29th. I will keep everyone updated, so until next week, please know you can contact me by email at lena.lopez@saobserver.com.

Have a Blessed Week,
