Alamo Colleges District Named a 2025 Great Place to Work for Second Year
The Alamo Colleges District is celebrating a major milestone for its employees and community after being named a 2025 Great Place To Work® Certified organization—marking the second consecutive year it has earned this national recognition. The honor is based entirely on employee feedback, and this year, 72% of employees said the district is a Great Place to Work, a rate 15% higher than the average U.S. workplace.
Chancellor Dr. Mike Flores said the back-to-back certification reflects the people at the heart of the institution. He called the achievement a testament to the “dedication and spirit” of the district’s faculty and staff, who he says drive the mission of ending poverty through education and training. Flores said the district remains committed to supporting a workplace where employees feel valued, heard, and empowered to excel.
Great Place To Work® leaders also emphasized the significance of the designation. Sarah Lewis-Kulin, Vice President of Global Recognition, said “earning the certification requires consistent, intentional investment in the employee experience—and that the Alamo Colleges District stands out nationally as a workplace where employees can thrive.”
The recognition ties directly into AlamoFORWARD, the district’s strategic plan focused in part on strengthening its talent pipeline. Over the past year, the district has taken major steps to invest in employee support and development, including the Board of Trustees’ approval of a $20 million investment in talent strategies. National research from Great Place To Work® shows that employees at Certified workplaces report greater fairness, stronger advancement opportunities, and higher enthusiasm about their day-to-day work—benchmarks that highlight just how significant the district’s certification is.
