Adidas Unveils The First Soccer Cleat Designed by Women, for Women

Adidas Unveils F50 SparkFusion: A Historic First in Women’s Soccer Footwear

Adidas has officially launched the F50 SparkFusion, the brand’s first soccer cleat built by women, for women—a bold step in performance design that speaks directly to the needs of female athletes. Introduced during the opening weekend of the FIFA Club World Cup festivities in Miami, the new boot represents a culmination of over 40 years of Adidas support for women’s soccer and a fresh milestone in the Three Stripes’ legacy of innovation.

From supplying the U.S. Women’s National Team with kits in 1985 to pioneering gender-specific performance gear in 2025, Adidas is setting a new bar for inclusivity in the game.

Built for the Female Foot, Engineered for the Future

Designer Mahsa Aryan, a longtime Adidas product expert and former player, led the charge on F50 SparkFusion, personally frustrated with past cleats that looked great on elite players but failed real-world comfort tests.

“I’d get blisters, black toes, or worse,” Aryan said. “This cleat finally reflects what we need—support, comfort, and performance for the female foot.”

To achieve that, Aryan and her team studied over 1,000 foot scans, analyzing everything from toe spacing to midfoot volume. The result: a silhouette adapted specifically to the narrower heel, higher arch, and fuller midfoot typical of women’s feet.

Introducing FUSIONLAST Technology

The cleat introduces FUSIONLAST, a breakthrough fit system enhancing lockdown in the heel, midfoot, and forefoot for maximum agility. A redesigned heel structure and external heel counter work together to deliver better rearfoot stability and comfort—key ingredients for match-winning confidence.

“You can only play well if you’re comfortable in your gear,” Aryan emphasized. “This outsole moves how you move—no slipping, no lag. Just performance.”

Trinity Rodman’s Impact on Design

The F50 SparkFusion has also been co-signed by NWSL superstar Trinity Rodman, who played a crucial role in shaping the cleat’s final look and feel.

“Trinity actually helped us choose the hero mid-cut model with the sock,” Aryan shared. “In Europe, low-cuts are more popular, but she told us directly, ‘In North America, we want ankle support. Give us the sock!’ That direction was a game changer.”

Rodman’s feedback extended beyond structure—she weighed in on color, graphics, and in-game feel, helping shape a cleat that reflects both performance and personality.

A Statement in Style and Access

Debuting in a pastel purple colorway with neon green accents, the F50 SparkFusion features Adidas’ iconic three stripes wrapped in high-contrast detail. The cleat is available in three silhouettes—mid-cut, low-cut laced, and laceless—with a wide price range from $65 to $260, making elite design more accessible than ever.

The Spark of a New Era

As women’s soccer continues to take center stage globally, the F50 SparkFusion isn’t just a cleat—it’s a statement. Designed from the ground up by women athletes and engineers, it blends style, science, and cultural relevance at a time when visibility matters most.
