Texas Education is a Mess, Go Vote
Hello SAISD Parents,
Today educators from around the nation are saying that our children have fallen behind in reading and math. The educational gap that the pandemic created will have adverse effects for many years. According to some math teachers, it could take longer for our children to learn introductory algebra. So, our children are between trying to catch up and staying safe at school.
The bigger question now is whether we will have enough teachers or tutors that can help our children or will end up with more failures in our schools. The educational system is falling apart, our students and teachers are overwhelmed with stress, and some are walking away from education entirely. We are facing a shortage of teachers now, and it looks like new college students are not pursuing a career in teaching. Our Texas politicians haven’t come up with a solid plan to encourage anyone to become a teacher. Lt. Dan Patrick is doing the opposite by yanking tenure away from teachers and forbidding the teaching of Critical Race Theory. The journey of someone wanting to become a teacher usually begins with someone who wants to make a difference in our communities. But as they get closer to graduating, our state requirements change, and first-year teachers face many obstacles. We need to come together and find a way to change this before it’s too late.
ABBOTT BELIEVES DNA KITS WILL HELP MASS SHOOTINGS- AN AWFUL IDEA
This week Governor Gregg Abbott explained he believes that passing out free DNA kits to our parents for their children is another way to help those that may face another mass shooting. If this is the Governors idea of bringing peace to a parent, then this is an awful idea. After all, the Governor has promised that this will never happen again. It’s these political decisions that have destroyed our faith within all our schools. Parents, we need to make a change, so please go out and vote in this year’s election.
