Who Will Be ROBBed?
Robb Elementary School will be ROBBed of two teachers and nineteen students’ familiar faces because of a shooter who took their lives leaving twenty-one empty spaces.
The city of Uvalde will be ROBBed of the mentioning of their names
and because of this horrific tragedy,
their small community will never be the same.
The attack took place two days before their summer break was to begin
right after the teachers’ and students’ awards ceremony, as the school year would end.
The parents will be ROBBed of getting their children ready for school.
A place where they went to learn and taught to follow the rules.
The faculty & staff will be ROBBed of seeing their innocent faces each day.
The students will be ROBBed of going out to the playground to play.
The two deceased teachers will be ROBBed of their daily earnings, while
the nineteen deceased students will be ROBBed of their learning.
These students will be ROBBed of going out to recess with their friends to have fun
because a psychopath entered their school building carrying two assault AR-15 rifle guns.
They were ROBBed of their innocence.
They were ROBBed of their smiles by an angry, unfriendly young man who was very hostile.
The shooter had a loaded backpack with rounds of ammunition and magazines
and a vicious intent to destroy everyone he encountered on the scene.
In our eyes, he is a heartless and evil young man, but it was Texas lawmakers that eased gun laws and put those deadly weapons in his hands.
When people have guns, they can permitless carry,
it can become deadly and scary.
Especially if the shooter is carrying a gun and not legally trained; then the question we should ask is, “Who should be blamed?”
Lawmakers in Texas who regulated the sale, possession, and use of these firearms can blatantly see who these assault weapons can harm.
“Guns do not kill!” People protest and refute, but with easy access and put in the wrong hands anyone can shoot.
It is with sincere condolence why citizens cried for the teachers and students who because of a senseless act died.
