(Boardroom) — The Buss family has reportedly reached an agreement to sell the majority ownership of the Los Angeles Lakers to Mark Walter, CEO and chairman of TWG Global. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the deal is expected to go through at a team valuation of $10 billion, which would make it the largest purchase in professional sports history.
Walter is already a minority stakeholder in the Lakers while also being a part of the Dodgers ownership group. Jerry Buss first bought the team back in 1979 for $67.5 million.
