Victim of Klein Cain High School Teacher Sex Trafficking Ring Hires National Civil Rights Attorneys
One of the victims of the Houston-area sex trafficking ring organized by Klein Cain High School teacher, Kedria Grisby, and her adult son has hired nationally renowned civil rights attorneys Bakari Sellers and Harry Daniels as well as Jonathan Jackson in her ongoing fight for justice after she and multiple others were groomed and trafficked by Grisby and her son Roger Magee under the nose of the Klein Independent School District.
Promised Troubled Teens With a Place To ‘Stay’
While Magee was arrested in November 2022, the story grabbed headlines and sparked community outcry after Grisby was arrested in her Klein Cain High School classroom this past April and, like her son, was charged with compelling prostitution of someone under 18 and sex trafficking a child. Authorities have said that the pair would target troubled teenage students and promise them a place to stay. Unfortunately, that promise would turn out to be a hotel and the students would be forced into prostitution.
That outcry sparked again later that month with the news that at least one whistleblower had warned the district and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) about Grisby and her activities as early as February 2023.
“The Klein Independent School District wants us to believe that they didn’t know anything about one of their teachers forcing students into a sex trafficking ring,” Daniels said. “Is that supposed to make it better? How can we believe any of our children are safe because, if they didn’t know about this, what else don’t they know about?”
“Our client is one of the most courageous young women I’ve ever met,” Jackson said. “It’s an honor to stand with her and to do everything we can to make sure those that failed to protect her are held just as accountable as those who victimized her. That’s the only way to make sure it never happens to anyone else.”
The attorneys say that they are currently investigating all of their legal options including a potential civil action against those responsible.
They encourage all of those victimized in the Klein High School sex trafficking ring to reach out to the Strom Law Firm and have their voices heard.
