(COSA News) — Due to the cold winter weather, the City of San Antonio will open six overnight Resilience Hubs starting at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 20, to provide residents with a safe and warm place to stay. These hubs are designed to be accessible and equitable facilities where community members can access essential resources and information during times of need.
These locations will provide basic needs and supplies, shelter from the severe cold, access to power and device charging, and free wi-fi. Anyone arriving at these locations should bring clothes, supplies, and medicine. Kennels will be available for pets in a separate area at these locations.
VIA passengers may travel fare-free to or from these locations using VIA bus service or VIA Link (within the Link service zones). Riders should alert the bus operator when boarding; VIAtrans passengers should alert the reservation agent when booking a VIAtrans trip.

Unsheltered Neighbors
The City of San Antonio’s Department of Human Services (DHS) is working with community partners to operate additional temporary overnight shelter space to help unsheltered neighbors experiencing homelessness. The following locations will be available:
City of San Antonio Bode Community Center – 901 Rigsby Ave, 78210
Communities under the Bridge (CUB) – 724 Chestnut St.
Corazon SA – 504 Ave E, 78215
Haven for Hope – 1 Haven for Hope Way, 78207
Sold Out Believers Church – 1139 Gembler (everyone) & 1802 Guadalupe (female only)
The City’s Street Outreach Team and Community Connections Hotline (210-207-1799) are operating 24/7 to support our unhoused neighbors. The hotline offers up-to-date information on warming centers and shelters, and will connect unsheltered neighbors with resources, including shelter transportation and cold weather supplies. DHS will provide transportation to overnight shelters. Animal Care Services has supplied kennels to ensure pets are safely accommodated at the shelters.
