As climate change continues to reshape our world, the devastating impacts of flooding, wildfires, and extreme weather have reminded us how vital it is to prepare our communities for the challenges ahead. Join us for the Climate Ready Neighborhoods: Community Resilience Fair on Tuesday, January 21, at the Maestro Entrepreneur Center on South Laredo Street, San Antonio.
This interactive event will empower neighbors to strengthen their communities and tackle the realities of climate change. With hands-on exhibits and practical resources, the fair will highlight the five pillars of resilience:
• Communications
• Buildings & Landscapes
• Programs & Services
• Power
• Operations
Meet resource partners, explore climate readiness tools, and discover how neighborhoods across San Antonio are creating Climate Ready PODs (Points of Distribution) to serve as hubs for community support before, during, and after crises.
Event Schedule:
• 5:00–6:00 PM: Community Resilience Fair & Resources
• 6:00–7:00 PM: Storytelling Panel & Discussion with community leaders
• 7:00–8:00 PM: Fair Resources re-open for further exploration
The fair is designed for everyone — whether you’re part of a neighborhood association, mutual aid group, faith-based organization, nonprofit, or simply a committed neighbor. You’ll leave with actionable steps to build resilience, enhance equity, and ensure greater access to resources in your community.
This initiative is a partnership between the City of San Antonio’s Office of Sustainability and Impact Guild, working together to create sustainable, connected neighborhoods that are ready to face the challenges of climate change.
Let’s act now to protect our communities and ensure we’re prepared to weather the storms — together.
