Windcrest Celebrates 65th Anniversary with Dazzling “Light-Up” Holiday Displays
The City of Windcrest is once again bringing holiday cheer to the greater San Antonio area with its annual “Light-Up” displays. In collaboration with the Windcrest Women’s Club and local civic organizations, this year’s celebration will honor Windcrest’s 65th anniversary with the theme “Blue Sapphire,” adding an extra sparkle to the beloved tradition.
Become an Honorary Judge for the 2024 Light-Up Contest
For the first time, non-Windcrest residents have the chance to join the festivities as honorary judges. Two lucky winners will be selected to enjoy dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m., followed by an exclusive tour of the city’s most colorful holiday displays. The chosen judges will help decide the winners of the 2024 Light-Up contest—an opportunity that promises to be unforgettable.
To enter, visit Windcrest’s Judges Lottery webpage before midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 26, and complete the entry form. The winners will be drawn at random during a public event on Wednesday, Nov. 27. Please note that entrants must not be Windcrest residents, City employees, or related to City staff or contest participants.
Light-Up Season Kicks Off on Dec. 7
The 2024 Light-Up season officially begins on Saturday, Dec. 7, with a festive tree-lighting ceremony at Windcrest City Hall, located at 8601 Midcrown. Santa Claus himself will light the tree, marking the transformation of Windcrest into a dazzling holiday wonderland filled with magic and charm.
