Chiefs escape Ravens by inches to win NFL season opener, avoid overtime
Lamar Jackson played his butt off tonight, but will be interesting to see what he has to say about that incompletion to Flowers on penultimate play. Couldn’t tell whether ball was tipped or what or he just missed him.
Chiefs win 27-20 after Likely touchdown overturned on review!
On the last play of regulation, Jackson scrambles before throwing to Likely at the back edge of the end zone. He makes the catch and it’s ruled a touchdown! But replays show his toe was just barely over the line as he came down, and after a dramatic pause, the officials rule the pass incomplete and the Chiefs have won the game!
What a dramatic ending! Harbaugh was signaling that the Ravens were going to go for two before the touchdown was overturned. Instead, the Chiefs win by a toe.
