Theta Eta Nurses Imagemaker Awardees

Theta Eta Nurses Receive Imagemaker Awards

On May 24, 2024, the Delta Alpha at-Large Chapter of Sigma Global Nursing Excellence (Sigma) and District 8 Texas Nurses Association (TNA) co-hosted the 17th Annual South Texas Nurse Imagemaker Awards Luncheon. The celebration commenced at The Hyatt Regence Hill Country Resort and Spa. Imagemakers are Registered Nurses that exemplify the following: Professional, Positive, Caring Environment, Leadership Qualities, Commitment to Continuous Learning, and Significant Contributions to the Organization and Community.

Theta Eta Chapter President, Sandra Evans, nominated by Dr. Sarah Williams, TNA Director, was selected as an Imagemaker for her outstanding leadership and commitment to community betterment. Chapter member Lorri Hays, nominated by the local chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), was selected as an Imagemaker for her commitment to learning and contributions to AACN and the community.

The South Texas Imagemaker Celebration was born out of the idea of recognizing superior nurses in the community. Over 30 years ago, Ruth F. Stewart, a nurse educator, community/public health practitioner/leader, and a health care policy activist organized the first celebration to honor nurses who exemplify professional nursing.

Theta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. has been a fixture in the San Antonio community for almost 40 years. Our mission is to elevate the plane of nursing and provide service to humanity. Theta Eta Chapter will be hosting the Tee Off for Humanity Golf Tournament on September 19, 2024, at the Olympia Hills Golf Course. Registration and more information can be found HERE.

Theta Eta Chapter will end the year with our 40th Anniversary celebration at the Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio – Live Oak Conference Center on December 7, 2024.
