The Nonprofit Council hosted its Big Give Pep Rally last week on Wednesday, September 13, which ignited excitement across nonprofits citywide to gear up for the 10th event anniversary of the Big Give 24-hour day of giving. Now it’s time for you to get involved!
Over 400 nonprofits from the local area are trained and registered to participate in this year’s Big Give – the 10th event of the 24-hour online fundraiser that raises funds to help nonprofits bridge resource gaps. This year’s Big Give 24-hour online giving day on Sept. 20 – 21 is now open for donations.
The Big Give is designed to both raise money for local nonprofits and celebrate the hard work of these organizations. Look up your favorite nonprofit and give online by visiting thebiggive.org.
In honor of the 10th event anniversary, The Nonprofit Council hopes to exceed their fundraising goal of $5.5 million. Nonprofit organizations like SJRC Texas benefit from the Big Give in substantial ways.
“The Big Give has been instrumental in helping us to grow our mission, said SJRC Chief Advancement Officer Cynthia Lopez. “We are only funded 60% by the C state, so we rely heavily on events such as the Big Give to sustain our mission. In 2022, we were able to raise close to $150,000. The funds raised went directly to the children and families we serve and were crucial in providing them needed support.”
This year, more than $175,000 will be available during Match Minutes and in prize money throughout the day. Match Minutes are a fun and effective way to engage more donors and effectively double their donations. People are encouraged to donate during these times to maximize their donations.
Since 2014, Big Give has helped more than 1,200 local nonprofits connect with more than 283,000 individual donors and collectively raised over $40 million to support the critical services nonprofits provide to our community. Join in supporting local causes close to your heart at thebiggive.org!
