Dyslexia specialist Alicia Joseph recently made an appearance on the Food Network’s “BBQ USA.” Alicia, along with her husband Clarence (CJ), form the formidable barbecue team known as Mama & Papa Joe’s Barbecue. The show provided an inside look at their journey, as well as that of four other competitive barbecue groups, during the Briscoe Ranch Cook-Off held last winter. Alicia Joseph stated, “ “Mama & Papa Joe’s BBQ was selected to be on the show for a number of reasons,” Joseph said. “We are growing quite the following with our successful You Tube Cooking Channel. We are also consistent winners on the barbecue competition circuit.”
The duo ventured to Uvalde for this particular competition and filming, which took place in December.
The episode titled “Smokin’ at the Crossroads” marked the third installment of the second season of “BBQ USA,” and it was broadcasted on July 24. “When the show aired, CJ and I watched it from home with our dog, Trooper,” Joseph said. “Our daughter lives here in San Antonio and she watched from her home while sending constant text messages. We just wanted to relax and watch from home.”
