5 Years- $80 Million, Highest Paid Nba Coach

Gregg Popovich Commits to Five More Years with Spurs, Inking $80 Million Extension, as Per ESPN

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Gregg Popovich’s new agreement is valued at $80 million, making him the highest-paid head coach in the NBA. Additionally, Wojnarowski mentioned that as the President of Basketball Operations for the Spurs, Popovich may have the potential to fulfill the terms of the contract, even if he doesn’t coach the entire five-year duration.

Popovich’s decision to extend his contract comes shortly after the San Antonio Spurs secured the top pick in the NBA Draft and selected the highly talented French player, Victor Wembanyama. Wembanyama made his official NBA Summer League debut against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night. At 74 years old, Popovich holds the record for the most wins by an NBA head coach. Taking charge in December 1996, he has achieved an impressive 1,366 victories and clinched five NBA championships.
