24 Outdoor Pools Opening for Summer Season

24 Outdoor Pools Opening for Summer Season
Morning and evening pool hours added.

City of San Antonio, Parks and Recreation — San Antonio Parks and Recreation announces the opening of 24 outdoor pools on Saturday, June 15, 2024. All outdoor pools are free and open to the public. Pool hours will be extended by one hour each day and offer earlier swim times at select pool locations. All pools will be open six days a week, including weekends, with a closure day that varies by location. For pool and splash pad locations, hours and programming visit SanAntonio.gov/ParksAndRec.

The opening of 24 outdoor pools kicks off the City’s regular pool season that will continue until mid-August. Eleven pre-season pools opened on May 11, 2024, with weekend hours. Select extended season pools will remain open into September. The San Antonio Natatorium, a public indoor pool facility, is closed for renovations this summer.

Outdoor aquatics programming includes Wibit inflatable obstacle courses, Movies in the Pool, World’s Largest Swimming Lesson, group swim lessons, and aqua fitness classes – all at no cost. In addition to the City’s pools, Parks and Recreation has partnered with local organizations to offer free Community Swim Days at the following locations:

  • North East Independent School District (NEISD) Sports Park Pool
  • Southwest Independent School District (SWISD) Aquatic Center
  • Thousand Oaks Family YMCA
  • YWCA
