$5,000 Surprise Starts Milestone Year
The $5,000 award will be the first grant presented as the SAISD Foundation begins its 20th year of grant distributions.
The foundation provides funding intended to give educators additional resources for projects, programs and learning opportunities benefiting SAISD students.
This year’s kickoff will also bring additional funding for a future classroom initiative.
Amazon To Announce $20,000 Investment
During the event, a representative from Amazon is expected to announce a $20,000 investment that will fund a future SAISD Foundation grant.
The contribution is being made in recognition of the foundation’s 20 years of work supporting the district.
Since 2006, the SAISD Foundation says it has invested more than $41 million in SAISD students, teachers and programs.
The milestone kickoff at Sam Houston High School puts the focus on the educators who have received that support and the classroom projects the grants are designed to make possible.
