Ron Nirenberg Campaign Opens New Headquarters With Focus on November

Nirenberg Used the Headquarters Opening to Outline Priorities Including Health Care, the County Jail and Affordability

Ron Nirenberg opened a new campaign headquarters Sept. 12 as his campaign for Bexar County Judge enters the final weeks before the Nov. 3 general election.

The headquarters, located at 3303 Broadway, will serve as an organizing and event space for Nirenberg’s campaign as well as other Democratic candidates, according to his campaign.

Nirenberg, San Antonio’s mayor from 2017 to 2025, is the Democratic nominee for Bexar County Judge. He won the March Democratic primary against incumbent County Judge Peter Sakai with 62.18% of the vote, according to official Bexar County election results. He faces Republican nominee Patrick Von Dohlen in the Nov. 3 general election.

Campaign Headquarters Will Support Other Candidates

During the grand opening, Nirenberg said the headquarters would be used for more than his own campaign.

He said the campaign plans to host events involving candidates including Zack Dunn, Kristian Carranza, Johnny Garcia and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Gina Hinojosa.

The Bexar County Democratic Party’s current candidate and events information also lists Nirenberg participating in campaign activity with Carranza, the Democratic candidate for Texas House District 118.

Nirenberg Highlights County Priorities

Nirenberg used the opening to reiterate several issues his campaign says would be priorities if he is elected county judge, including expanding access to health care, addressing problems at the Bexar County Jail, improving the county’s response to mental health needs and addressing affordability.

His broader campaign platform also calls for changes in county governance, regional planning and preparedness, infrastructure coordination and modernization of county government.

The campaign has argued that cooperation with elected officials at the state and federal levels would be important to carrying out those priorities.

Headquarters Open to Supporters

The Broadway headquarters will also function as a location where supporters can obtain yard signs, push cards and other campaign materials.

According to the campaign, the office will be open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visits can also be arranged by appointment.

The headquarters opening comes as the Bexar County Judge contest moves toward the Nov. 3 general election. The Texas Secretary of State’s certified ballot lists Nirenberg as the Democratic nominee and Von Dohlen as the Republican nominee.
