Livestream Donations Will Support a School and Soup Kitchen in Gaza for Five Weeks, According to Nonprofit Go Project Hope
YouTube sensation IShowSpeed is turning his massive online following into humanitarian support after a recent livestream helped raise $9,000 for a school and soup kitchen serving children and families in Gaza.
The 21-year-old content creator, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., received a heartfelt thank-you from Palestinian children after donations generated through his broadcast provided enough funding to sustain both programs for five weeks.
In a video shared Wednesday, Nov. 4, by nonprofit Go Project Hope, dozens of children gathered inside a large tent, smiling and waving while holding a handmade poster that read, “Thank you IShowSpeed for supporting our School and Kitchen.”
The message came after Speed used his livestream to introduce viewers to the organization’s humanitarian work, helping connect the nonprofit with thousands of potential supporters.
IShowSpeed’s Gaza Fundraiser Supports Families
Go Project Hope, a U.S.-based nonprofit focused on health and education initiatives, works alongside Gaza Soup Kitchen to provide food assistance and educational opportunities for Palestinians in northern Gaza.
The organization’s programs serve families in the Jabaliya refugee camp, where access to food and other essential supplies has been severely disrupted by the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
According to the nonprofit, the donations will cover five weeks of operations for its school and soup kitchen. It also reports that all donations received for the initiative go directly toward its Gaza programs.
On its official website, Go Project Hope says a $4 donation can provide a meal for an entire family, while $50 can feed a family for one week.
The organization credited Speed’s audience with helping bring international attention to families relying on its services.
Streamer Continues Palestinian Relief Support
The latest fundraiser is not Speed’s first contribution to Palestinian relief efforts.
In June 2024, he reportedly donated $50,000 to Palestinian humanitarian assistance after winning $100,000 in a Wipeout-style challenge involving fellow internet personalities KSI and MrBeast.
That contribution represented half of his winnings from the competition, according to Complex.
Speed, best known for his energetic broadcasts, viral reactions and international livestreams, has built an audience extending well beyond traditional entertainment platforms.
His latest fundraising effort demonstrates how that reach can translate into tangible assistance for communities facing humanitarian emergencies.
For families in Gaza, the donations mean continued access to meals and educational support. For the children who thanked him, the impact of a livestream extends far beyond the screen.
