HalloEast Will Bring Costumes, Candy, Food, Music And Local Vendors To The Espee For An Afternoon Focused On Eastside Families And Community Connection
San Antonio for Growth on the Eastside will bring its annual HalloEast celebration back to the Eastside this October, offering families an afternoon of Halloween activities, food, music and community resources.
The family-friendly event is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25, from 1 to 5 p.m. at The Espee, 1174 E. Commerce St.
Organized by San Antonio for Growth on the Eastside, or SAGE, HalloEast brings together Eastside families, locally owned businesses and community organizations for a neighborhood celebration centered around costumes, candy and connection.
Families can expect children’s activities, Halloween festivities, food vendors and music throughout the afternoon. Local entrepreneurs will also have an opportunity to introduce their businesses to residents, while community organizations will connect families with services and resources.
According to SAGE, last year’s HalloEast drew 533 attendees along with 58 vendors, 61 volunteers and 25 community partners.
HalloEast is open to families and community members interested in celebrating Halloween while connecting with local businesses and organizations serving the Eastside.
SAGE describes HalloEast as more than a seasonal event, with the celebration also serving as a gathering place for residents to meet neighbors and support Eastside businesses.
The organization’s broader work focuses on supporting small businesses, preserving Eastside culture and encouraging economic development without displacement. During the pandemic, the organization adapted the event through efforts that included distributing candy bags, school supplies and resources to Eastside families.
How To Attend, Volunteer Or Become A Vendor
HalloEast is free for families and community members, but SAGE is asking guests to register in advance through its website. The organization says attendees can expect an afternoon of family activities and community programming.
SAGE is also accepting volunteers to help with the event. Volunteer registration is open to people interested in contributing their time and talents to help HalloEast run smoothly.
Local businesses and community organizations can also register as vendors, giving them an opportunity to showcase their products, services and resources to Eastside residents attending the celebration.
Guest, volunteer and vendor registration are all available on the official SAGE HalloEast page.
