Dystany Spurlock Eyes NASCAR Start at Richmond Raceway on Friday

The First Black Woman to Compete in a Nascar National Series Will Drive Team Reaume’s No. 2 Ford

Dystany Spurlock will return to her hometown this week for a community celebration before attempting to compete in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series at Richmond Raceway.

Spurlock is entered in Friday’s Black’s Tire 250 presented by BTS Rewards, driving the No. 2 Ford F-150 in her debut with Team Reaume. The race represents her third bid for a Truck Series start during her historic 2026 season.

Spurlock became the first Black woman to compete in one of NASCAR’s three national series when she made her Truck Series debut at Dover Motor Speedway in May. NASCAR confirmed the historic milestone.

Because 39 trucks are entered for 36 starting positions at Richmond, Spurlock must qualify for the race.
