More Than 80 Crews Worked Across San Antonio After Severe Weather Brought Damaging Winds and Widespread Power Outages
CPS Energy has completed restoration of all storm-related power outages after severe weather swept through San Antonio, initially knocking out electricity to more than 250,000 customers, according to the utility.
CPS Energy said all storm-related outages were restored as of Sept. 1 following several days of work by employees, contractors and outside crews.
The severe weather moved into the utility’s service territory Friday night, bringing winds of up to 65 mph and approximately 2,481 lightning strikes.
“I want to thank our customers for their patience and understanding,” interim CPS Energy President and CEO Frank Almaraz said. “None of this would be possible without the countless hours put in by our employees, contractors and mutual assistance partners who worked around the clock to restore service.”
