The Surprise Four-Track Release Features JAY-Z’s First Officially Released Verse Since 2022, Along With Extended And Acoustic Versions
Beyoncé gave the BeyHive another surprise Wednesday, releasing a four-track remix collection for her latest single, “Morning Dew (Donk).”
Parkwood Entertainment teased the release Tuesday night before the project arrived on streaming platforms during the early hours of Aug. 5. The pack includes a new remix featuring JAY-Z, credited as JAŸ-Z, as well as an extended mix, an acoustic rendition and a clean version of the couple’s collaboration.
The featured remix marks JAY-Z’s first officially released verse since his appearance on DJ Khaled’s “God Did” in 2022.
The new production trades some of the original song’s softer sound for a more energetic arrangement incorporating elements associated with Sheck Wes’ “Mo Bamba,” Soulja Boy’s “Donk” and the Isley Brothers’ “Between the Sheets.”
Apple Music lists the project at four songs and approximately 16 minutes. Its track list includes:
“MORNING DEW (DONK) REMIX” featuring JAŸ-Z, “MORNING DEW (DONK MIX),” “MORNING DEW (DONK) ACOUSTIC 4:44” and a clean edition of the JAŸ-Z remix.
The remix adds another chapter to Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s long history of collaborations, which includes “Crazy in Love,” “Déjà Vu,” “Drunk in Love” and their joint album, “Everything Is Love.”

Release Continues Beyoncé’s ‘B’Day’ Anniversary Celebration
Beyoncé officially released “Morning Dew (Donk)” on July 4 after versions of the recording had circulated unofficially online for years.
The song was reportedly recorded around 2013 during sessions connected to Beyoncé’s self-titled album. A snippet later surfaced online before a longer version gained traction among fans and on TikTok.
Parkwood said the July release began a 60-day countdown to the 20th-anniversary edition of Beyoncé’s sophomore album, “B’Day.” The original album was released Sept. 4, 2006, and included hits such as “Déjà Vu,” “Ring the Alarm,” “Irreplaceable” and “Beautiful Liar.”
The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while “Irreplaceable” became Billboard’s year-end No. 1 song for 2007.
“Morning Dew” also returned Beyoncé to the upper reaches of the charts. The single debuted at No. 7 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, No. 3 on Hot R&B Songs and No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Fans quickly began comparing the four new versions, with the acoustic recording drawing particular praise. Reactions to JAY-Z’s return were more divided, as some listeners celebrated another Carter collaboration while others said they preferred Beyoncé’s original solo version.
For now, the remix collection gives fans four ways to revisit “Morning Dew (Donk)” as the countdown to the “B’Day” anniversary continues.
