Vet Fest Returns July 25 with Open Car Show, Live Music and Veteran Resources at Mission County Park
Classic cars, live music and veteran resources will come together later this month as the San Antonio Coalition for Veterans and Families (SACVF) hosts its 5th Annual Vet Fest Open Car Show and Concert at Mission County Park.
The free community event will take place Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mission County Park, 6030 Padre Drive, and will feature live entertainment, food trucks, vendors, military and veteran resources, giveaways and an open car show welcoming nearly every type of vehicle.
Vehicle registration is $25 and will be held the morning of the event from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Awards will be presented before 3 p.m.
Open to Nearly Every Type of Vehicle
The show welcomes cars, trucks, motorcycles, rat rods, 4x4s, performance vehicles, low riders, bicycles, tractors and other specialty vehicles ranging from classic to current models.
Participants will compete for Top 30 Car trophies along with Best in Show honors in both Pre-1990 and 1990-and-Newer categories. Additional awards include Best Interior, Best Engine, Best Paint and the Participants’ Choice Award.
Family-Friendly Entertainment
In addition to the vehicle showcase, attendees can enjoy live music, a DJ, food vendors, community booths, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing throughout the day.
Admission and parking are free, making the event open to veterans, military families and the public. Pets are also welcome.
Connecting Veterans with Resources
Vet Fest also serves as an opportunity for veterans and their families to connect with local organizations offering services and information. Representatives from Bexar County Military & Veterans Services and community partners are expected to participate.
Outside alcohol is prohibited.
