Local Designers, Artists and Creators Will Transform Guadalupe Street into a Fashion Runway on June 6
A new fashion and cultural experience is set to make its debut on San Antonio’s Historic Westside as Runway Rasquachic takes over the streets on Saturday, June 6.
The event, produced by San Antonio fashion designer and creative producer Agosto Cuellar, will be held from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 1105 Guadalupe St., at the corner of Guadalupe and South Brazos. Organizers describe the event as a celebration of local creativity, fashion, art and culture rooted in the community.
Fashion Inspired by Community and Culture
Runway Rasquachic is the newest production from Haus of Augustine, Cuellar’s newly launched creative haus created in partnership with Dr. Puente Para La Gente. The annual event is designed to bring together local designers, artists, creators and cultural icons for an evening that highlights fashion where inspiration begins — in the streets and neighborhoods of San Antonio.
The term “rasquachic” was coined by local fashion icon and vintage store owner Pilar to describe her unique style as not simply rasquache, but rasquachic — blending resourcefulness, creativity and personal expression.
100-Foot Runway and Interactive Exhibits
Attendees can expect a 100-foot street runway along with approximately 30 pop-up exhibitions and interactive creative spaces showcasing the work of local artists and makers. Organizers say visitors will have opportunities to experience the creative process firsthand while supporting local talent.
Community exhibitions and interactive experiences begin at 5 p.m., followed by the evening’s featured fashion showcase at 8 p.m.
Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
