Carnitas Are Back at Taco Cabana, Joined by Quesabirria Tacos and New Refreshers
Taco Cabana is bringing back its carnitas lineup, reintroducing a fan-favorite protein across several new and returning menu items.
The San Antonio-rooted chain is spotlighting slow-cooked, hickory-smoked pork in a variety of formats designed to appeal to customers throughout the day.
Company leadership says the move reflects a continued focus on delivering familiar flavors with consistency and depth.
What’s On the Menu
The updated lineup includes several options built around carnitas, including breakfast tacos, traditional tacos, street tacos, and quesadillas.
Each item combines the smoky pork with toppings such as green enchilada sauce, pico de gallo, cilantro, onion, cheese, and eggs, depending on the item.
The expanded offerings are designed to give customers more flexibility across breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
New Additions Beyond Carnitas
Alongside the carnitas return, the brand is also introducing additional menu items aimed at broadening its appeal.
Quesabirria tacos—featuring melted cheese and a dipping broth—add a richer option, while a new street corn side delivers a creamy, cheese-topped complement.
The additions reflect a wider push to offer more layered flavors and variety across the menu.
Drinks Get an Upgrade
The chain is also expanding its beverage lineup with updated Cabana Refreshers.
A new sparkling “Fizz” option made with 7UP joins existing fruit-based drinks like strawberry and lemonade refreshers.
A Push for Flavor and Flexibility
The return of carnitas, paired with new menu items and beverage options, signals Taco Cabana’s continued effort to balance value with bold flavor.
The brand continues to lean into familiar favorites while updating its offerings to stay competitive in the fast-casual space.
